Vision & Strategy
“Life’s not that hard, it’s just about making a series of choices. And, every time you face one, all you have to know is one thing . . . where it is you are heading” ~ Vince Young
You as a leader may have a sound concept of where you want your organization to go. But, in organizations, the challenge is to get everyone else to understand that direction with the same level of depth that you do. Aligning people with a sense of passion is vitally important to gaining deep commitment and peak performance. But how do you generate that passion? For most of us, our work must be about more than making money. We want to be a part of something more important.
Vision, Mission, and Strategy define your organization’s purpose and direction. The better your team members understand these and associate with them, the more likely it is they will make decisions that move your organization constantly in the right direction.
When done right these things help us make decisions not only about what to do, but what not to do. When done right, they help us make decisions about how to do it, or how not to do it.
The Xavier Leadership Center can teach you the elements of what good mission, vision, and strategy are, and can facilitate your team in developing a meaningful plan for your organization.
How far does your vision reach? Are you planning for the next quarter–or the next decade?
